These latches are ideal "hooks" since they fold up out of harms way. They can be placed at any height as coat hooks, towel hooks and wash cloth hooks. When selecting these latches, one must use the metal chrome ones, as the plastic ones are not strong enough and will eventually break. You will also want to be sure to mount them on a stud, since wall materials in RVs are usually thin. And one must make sure that the screws you use do not come out the other side of the wall, nor puncture any wiring in the wall. I used short dry wall screws, they go in easily and hold tight.
I have installed three of these in the bathroom to hold wet coats. One is installed above the outlet on the kitchen cabinet under the stove, for holding a hand towel.
My coat hook idea has been published in the 10 minute tech section of trailer life magazine and after the manufacturer of these hooks saw that they thought it was such a great idea that they now mention the coat hook idea on the packaging.
