Shelving Modifications in our T-160 Shadow Cruiser
My wife and I got tired of living out of suitcases when camping. So we decided that shelves are more efficient at storing clothes than hangers are in our T160. It is just too darn difficult to put underwear and socks on hangers! So we decided to install these sliding baskets that we found at Home Depot. They are a perfect fit, 21 inches deep and 17 inches wide. It fits in the closet, leaving room to spare for the plumbing. It fits so well that I thought Shadow Cruiser made the cabinet just to fit these baskets and rails.

The slide rails also came from there and are one piece each side and they snap together. I cut the side rails down to the proper height, put the top and bottom bars together and then after sliding it into the cabinet, screwed it fast by drilling through these top and bottom bars with screws into solid cabinet framing. (I had to add some wood framing.)
The baskets hold everything securely in place. They have stops on them that keep them from coming out the whole way and falling on your foot. I made little L shaped pins out of hanger wire that I put into the end holes in the slider rails when we travel. These keep the baskets in place so they do not vibrate against the inside of the door and damage the door.
I also bought steel shelving from Home Depot to put shelves in the former battery compartment which is now our boot and shoe storage. These shelves are 20 inches deep and you buy them in 4 or 6 foot lengths and cut them to size. I bought the ones that have closely spaced metal bars. The depth is perfect for these spaces. I did have to cut out alittle to go around the plumbing. Brackets are available to mount the shelves in place.

We also put one in the closet above the refrigerator. Things were just stacked too high to get at easily. the shelf organizes stuff much easier. You can also see in this pic the white aluminum sheet metal piece I installed behind the mirror so nothing ever breaks the mirror from inside this cabinet.

Then when I saw all this neat wire shelving stuff at Home Depot, I got carried away. I added this shelf in the cabinet above the sink to organize plates, bowls and cups better. The shelf is actually mounted upside down because it is screwed in to a top wall framing member, the only way to mount it.
Last, but not least, I added this basket in the area between the shelf and the drawers under the stove and sink. This basket is used to hold bread and rolls and keeps them from being crushed by other boxes and cans while the trailer is bouncing down the road.
